瀬戸内の建物
日本の四国地方に位置する、香川県善通寺市。
穏やかな瀬戸内海を望み、四国の山々に挟まれた地域にあり、四国八十八箇所霊場の第七十五番として有名な善通寺がある。
この建物は、夫婦の住宅として計画された。
この地域には、飯野山(いいのやま)という小さくて丸い山を望むことができる。
この山は、別名讃岐富士とも呼ばれ、数々の歌人や画家がその姿を作品に残してきたことでも有名だ。
その姿は、まるで子供が描くおむすびの「山」のようで、他の山々とは一味違う可愛らしさを持っている。
人々は、ここから見る飯野山が一番綺麗に見えると、誇りにしている。
敷地は、善通寺にほど近くに位置し、畑に囲まれた場所である。
そのため、周りに高い建物はなく、飯野山が日常に馴染んでいる。
この風景を壊すことなく、この場所に馴染む建物を計画したいと思った。
建物は、平屋建て。構成は、大きなリビングと寝室、二つを繋ぐテラス。
テラスからは、両方の部屋が見渡せるように、部屋を繋ぐ役割を持たせた。
玄関からは、ゲストを迎えた際に、目の前のテラスとその先の景色を望むことができる。
屋根は、ゆるやかにカーブし、飯野山をイメージした屋根形状とした。
起伏している屋根のもっとも高い部分をテラスとし、東側の日差しと外の風景を取り入れる計画とした。
夫婦は、テラスで夜風を感じながら、二人の時間を過ごしているそうだ。
テラスが、部屋と部屋を繋ぐ役割のほかに、屋外を取り入れる役割を持ち、さらに屋内と変わらない活動ができる場所になった。
使い方や関係性により、新しい役割を持つことができた。
この敷地は農地転用敷地で、それは今まで農業用敷地として使われていた場所を人が住むための場所に変える行為。地域の風景を大きく変えることでもあり、近くに住む人々やこの場所を利用する人にとっても、影響を与える行為でもある。
住宅という単位でも、その土地の人の営み、風土、文化との関係を考える必要がある。

House I
Zentsuji City in Kagawa Prefecture is located in the Shikoku region of Japan.
The area overlooks the calm Seto Inland Sea and is flanked by the mountains of Shikoku, where Zentsuji Temple is famous as the 75th of the 88 sacred places on Shikoku Island.
This building was planned as a residence for a couple.
Iino, a small, round mountain, can be seen in this area.
This mountain, also known as Sanuki Fuji, is famous for the many poets and painters who have left their images of it in their works.
Its shape is like a child’s drawing of a “mountain” on a rice ball, and it has a cuteness that is different from other mountains.
People are proud to say that Mt. Iino looks most beautiful from here.
The site is located near Zentsuji Temple and surrounded by fields.
Because of this, there are no tall buildings around, and Mt.Iino.
We wanted to plan a building that would fit in without destroying this landscape.
The building is a one-story structure. It consists of a large living room, a bedroom, and a terrace connecting the two.
The terrace overlooks both rooms and serves as a connection between them.
From the entrance, when welcoming guests, one can see the terrace in front of them and the view beyond.
The roof is gently curved, with a roof shape reminiscent of Mt. Iino.
The highest part of the undulating roof is the terrace, which is designed to bring in the eastern sunlight and the outside scenery.
The couple enjoys spending time together on the terrace, feeling the evening breeze.
The terrace, in addition to connecting the rooms, also serves to bring the outdoors in, making it a place where activities can be carried out in the same way as indoors.
It was able to take on a new role depending on how it was used and the relationship between the two.
This site is a site converted to agricultural land, which is an act of converting a site previously used for agriculture into a place for people to live. It is also an act that significantly changes the landscape of the community and has an impact on the people who live nearby and use this site.
Even within the unit of housing, it is necessary to consider the relationship with the local people’s activities, climate, and culture.
